This week’s city feature in the Jersey Shore is Long Branch, NJ. Long Branch was a beach resort town in the late 1700s. In the 1800s it was a “Hollywood” of the east, where some of the greatest theatrical and other performers of the day gathered and performed. It was visited by presidents Chester A. Arthur, James A. Garfield, Ulysses S. Grant, Benjamin Harrison, Rutherford B. Hayes, William McKinley, and Woodrow Wilson. Seven Presidents Park, a park near the beach, is named in honor of their visits. The Church of the Presidents, where all seven worshiped, is the only structure left in Long Branch associated with them.

The city of Wildwood is one of the top vacation destinations on the New Jersey Shore, with the stats to back it up. If you are looking for great destination to visit in the Jersey Shore region, you don’t have to look further than Cape May, NJ. The city of Cape May is located in the south of the peninsula and is home to one of the oldest seaside resorts in America, with historical roots dating back to the 1700s. The entire city was designated as a National Historic Landmark on May 11, 1976, and many of the buildings throughout the town are original Victorian structures that have been maintained in pristine condition.
Belmar is among one of the most popular surf spots on the East Coast. Belmar frequently hosts surfing events and competitions, along with a number of other nationally renowned events.
