Moonstruck Restaurant Review

Whether you live in the Asbury Park area or you are traveling through the New Jersey Shore, I strongly suggest visiting this dining destination. Moonstruck offers patrons ‘fresh’ American-Mediterranean cuisine, with an excellent selection of drinks to choose from at the bar. Many preparations are inspired by the great cooking of The Mediterranean region: Italy, Spain, France, Greece, North Africa and The Middle-East, with a few nods towards South-East Asia.

The New Jersey Shore has a number of destinations that locals and travelers frequent for Halloween festivities, however the Asbury Park boardwalk shined brightly on the October 31st. Families from around the state celebrated the Fall holiday by dressing in fun costumes and enjoyed the atmosphere (and candy), given to all patrons. Oceanfront stores and boardwalk restaurants stayed open and handed special treats out to kids visiting the city. For visitors who enjoy traditional Halloween activities combined with beach fun, this was the perfect event.

In fact, Asbury Park has always been widely known for its rich musical history. It was ranked the sixth best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.

Remembering the SS Morro Castle

This morning marks the 75 year anniversary of The Morro Castle disaster. If you are not familiar with the Moro Castle, it was the famed ship that ran aground just north of Convention Hall in Asbury Park. The crash was caused by a fast-moving fire that started on the lower level of the ship and quickly spread throughout the vessel, killing 137 passengers and crew members.
